I made an online purchase today but then cancelled it. The merchant says they have not debited my account, but when I check my account, I see the funds are not available. Why is that?

When a merchant gets approval from VISA, that amount is put on hold by VISA until the charge of the same amount is posted to the account. If the amount approved by VISA does not post for five days, the hold expires automatically. If a merchant has placed a hold in error, you may have them call us directly at 1 (800) 479-7928 and request the hold be released.

We will use the available balance and not your actual balance to determine if you have sufficient funds to cover your transactions.
